The Triune oneness of the Godhead's love,
Together produce new life through creation.
The epitome of wholeness and self-giving love,
United in the quest of His glorification.
The covenantal oneness of two to one flesh,
An intimacy that knows every freckle and scar.
The ecstatic passion that leads to new life,
And reconnects that which strife tries to mar.
The Church, an amalgamation of unique entities,
A plethora of ages, skills, and races,
Divided no longer by personal identities,
But united to carry His Spirit to all places.
The unity of that which is other together
Is counter to human’s divisive nature.
Too often we witness deep intimacy sever,
And scars that result from not loving our neighbour.
But as singers in harmony lift a beautiful fusion,
Or geese reach further in a V-distribution,
A droplet of water such a force in communion,
So is the power of plurality in union.
The Creator has shown us His heartbeat for unity,
and demonstrated the source of it in humility.
Though identity may be lost, it's an opportunity
To gain so much more: our Lord, Love and Community.
