The One who made humanity,

Mountains, oceans, galaxies,

Auroras, black holes, gravity,

Became an infant baby.

The One who had an absence of need,

Placed Himself in utmost dependence.

Fragile enough to break and bleed,

Nurtured and carried by Adam's descendants.

The One who uttered the laws of science

Deprived Himself the ability to speak.

Pride didn't limit Him from reliance,

Crying the sole way for help to seek.

The One who is worthy of all our awe

Wants us so much that He's open to pain,

Chooses to unguard His heart, not withdraw,

If simply our hearts that He might attain.

God wrote a story we could not conceive

Revealing a Person too beautiful to believe,

The mightiest yet also the humblest Being

Invites us to know Him, this Infant King.
